About this Opportunity

Volunteer Opportunity: Side Walker - Help Support Riders in 30-Minute Equine Therapy Sessions! At the American Therapeutic Riding Center (ATRC)

Join us as a Side Walker! In this role, you'll assist a certified PATH instructor and staff to support client riders in equine therapy riding sessions. Each session lasts 30 minutes, and we are flexible on your volunteering time. Experience is great but not required - we’ll provide all the training you need!

As a Side Walker, you'll walk alongside riders, ensuring their safety and offering encouragement. You'll also have the chance to learn to lead horses or help in the barn, if you're interested in additional ways to help. It’s also a perfect opportunity to get your steps in while making a meaningful impact.

Why Volunteer with ATRC?

Volunteering at ATRC is a life-changing experience, both for you and the riders. Our Equine Assisted Services (EAS) help individuals with diverse needs enhance their social, physical, and emotional well-being. You'll play a key role in improving riders’ posture, strength, mobility, and overall quality of life.

Flexible Scheduling to Fit Your Lifestyle!

We offer 30-minute sessions, and you can volunteer for the times and hours that suit you best. Whether you have a little time or a lot, we’ll work with your schedule!
