About this Opportunity

Role Summary

The Fundraising & Development Volunteer will play a critical role in supporting the Transcendent Parenting Project (TPP) as we prepare to launch. This position is designed for individuals who want to contribute their time and skills toward building a strong foundation of donor engagement, grant readiness, and community partnerships. Volunteers in this role will assist with grant research, donor prospecting, event support, donor communications, social media fundraising campaigns, and data management. Their contributions will directly support TPP’s mission of helping separated and divorced parents create healthier, more collaborative co-parenting relationships outside of family court.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct grant and donor research, compiling opportunities and prospects into organized reports.
  • Support pre-launch fundraising events by assisting with logistics, invitations, and follow-up communications.
  • Assist in drafting thank-you letters, donor updates, and impact stories for newsletters and campaigns.
  • Create and post fundraising-focused content on social media platforms to expand TPP’s visibility.
  • Manage donor records in spreadsheets or CRM systems, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Help prepare donor meeting packets and stewardship touches (thank-you calls, handwritten notes).
  • Engage with local businesses to identify sponsorship and in-kind donation opportunities.

Desired Skills and Competencies

  • Research & Analytical Skills:

Demonstrates the ability to identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential funding opportunities through online databases, nonprofit directories, and community networks. Capable of compiling findings into clear, actionable reports that guide TPP’s grant and donor strategy.

  • Written Communication:

Strong writing and editing skills for crafting donor letters, grant prospect summaries, newsletters, and social media posts. Able to communicate TPP’s mission and impact in a persuasive and accessible way for diverse audiences.

  • Interpersonal & Networking Skills:

Comfortable engaging with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders in a professional, mission-centered manner. Builds rapport and trust, representing TPP with enthusiasm and authenticity.

  • Event Planning & Coordination:

Organized and detail-oriented in supporting fundraising events, including logistics, invitations, RSVPs, and day-of coordination. Able to anticipate needs and ensure events run smoothly to create a positive donor experience.

  • Digital & Social Media Literacy:

Familiar with using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to support fundraising campaigns. Skilled in creating or curating engaging content, including graphics, donor spotlights, and fundraising appeals.

  • Data Management & Attention to Detail:

Experienced in maintaining accurate donor records using spreadsheets or CRM systems. Ensures meticulous data entry, pledge tracking, and reporting to strengthen TPP’s fundraising accountability.

  • Teamwork & Adaptability:

Works collaboratively with staff, board members, and other volunteers in a flexible, startup environment. Willing to adapt quickly to new challenges and opportunities that arise during TPP’s pre-launch and early operations.

By volunteering in this role, individuals will directly contribute to TPP’s ability to establish sustainable funding streams, expand our community presence, and serve more families. Volunteers gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and development while making a meaningful difference for families navigating separation and co-parenting.
