About this Opportunity
Atlanta Angels believes that not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can make a difference in a child's life. One way you can make an impact is through our Dare to Dream program. The Dare to Dream program focuses on one-on-one mentoring for youth (ages 11-22) who are in foster care, at-risk to age out, or have aged-out. Mentors serve as positive role models who meet with their youth to build relationships and empower them to accomplish their goals. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to provide youth who are in or have aged out of care with the one-on-one support they need to feel safe, capable, and loved.
This program requires a one-year commitment, with meetings at least twice a month with your mentee.
We are currently seeking specific mentors to be matched with youth on our waitlist! We are specifically looking for volunteers in or around the Dallas, Paulding County area for youth #133.
She is an 11 y/o youth who describes herself as chill, easy-going, and kind. She is a twin and enjoys being able to see all her siblings. She enjoys skating, swimming, going to the zoo, going on picnics at the park, and going shopping. She also loves listening to music and singing. She would like a mentor who has similar interests at her. She hopes to have a mentor who can be her friend.
The first step in our volunteer process is to attend a virtual Discovery Session. You can learn more or sign up, here. Please reach out to Allie at [email protected] with any questions or visit our website. If you are in or near Paulding County and interested in supporting a youth in your community, please reach out!
