Events Coordinator Wanted (Local DMV Area)

The Black Tie Society of Washington is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization committed to mentoring minority youth, promoting financial literacy and creating culturally rich experiences that fund our community programs. Our signature events - including Smoke & Soul, Vines & Voices and the 92% Cook out - are where culture, class and community meet.

We are seeking an experienced or emerging Event Planner/Coordinator to help organize and grow our premium-style events across the DMV area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on networking, has an eye for detail and wants to build a portfolio with high-impact, media visible events.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, coordinating and executing BTS events.
• Secure vendors, sponsors, and venue participants.
• Manage event timelines, budgets and logistics.
• Support event marketing, guest communications, and volunteer coordination.
• Represent The Black Tie Society professionally at all events and meetings.

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with community events, hospitality or non profit planning.
• Independent, proactive, and comfortable negotiating partnerships.
• Familiarity with Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and DC event landscaping is a plus.
