Volunteer Teacher

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies aligned with GED curriculum.
• Assess student learning needs and create lesson plans to support progress.
• Track attendance, student progress, and testing readiness.
• Offer encouragement and support to build student confidence and persistence.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or any 4 year degree preferred.
• Teaching or tutoring experience, especially with adult learners, strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.

• Part-time, flexible schedule based on class needs.
• Training and curriculum resources provided.
• Reports to Program Director.
