Queens Community House is recruiting volunteers for our Friendly Visiting program, a program that matches home bound older adults with volunteers for weekly visiting to help create a mutual relationship and reduce isolation and loneliness among older adults in our community.

Friendly visiting is an enriching opportunity for the volunteer to develop a meaningful friendship. Together, the older adult and volunteer can discuss shared interests, learn/teach new skills, read books, learn technology, and celebrate special holidays.

We are currently in need of Romanian speaking volunteer for an older adult living in Astoria for in-person visits. Our client is 96 years old and would love to meet a kind, friendly visitor for in-person visits. Our client's interests include classic movies such as Casa Blanca, classical music and classic literature. Our client has a PhD in Economics & was a Director of Finances with the Romanian government.
