About this Opportunity
Join Habitat for Humanity as an Application Processing Assistant, supporting the homeownership application process for future Habitat families!
At Habitat for Humanity, we commit to building safe, decent homes and selling them to qualified low-income families via a 25 to 30 year, low- to no-interest mortgage. Habitat families go through an application process to enter the program, and that's where this role comes in.
This role will:
- Prepare and send Verifications of Employment, Verifications of Housing and Verifications of Child Care Benefits
- Pull Credit Reports on applicants
- Pull background screening reports
- Search public records for judgements and criminal history
Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to maintaining privacy
- Attention to detail
- Ability to monitor for missing items and follow up on a timely basis
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Time Commitment: The application process currently happens twice a year, with the next cycle coming mid-June.
The work of this position (20-30 hours per application cycle) is usually completed within a 30-day timeframe, so it is an episodic opportunity. The actual time of work can be flexible, including daytime, evenings, and/or weekends based on the volunteer's availability.
This is an in-person process and must be done at the Habitat office in Madison.
Full training will be provided.
