About this Opportunity

Description: Pet Bios volunteers help our pets put their best foot forward! These volunteers help to edit and streamline information submitted by our fosters into perfect pet bios. They also select photos for publication to our website and others that promote adoption, and ensure that internal information submitted by fosters is clear for our adoptions team so that we can find the best adoptive homes possible.

Reports To: Marketing and Development Manager

Schedule and Time Commitment: Flexible schedule, but at least 3-5 hours per week

Location: Remote (you must have internet access)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control - check the bio for grammatical errors/misspelled words. Also ensure that it is complete and doesn’t contain any inappropriate information.

  • Add bios/photos/relevant animal attributes to ShelterLuv, the Louie’s Legacy database

  • Email Foster for new/updated photos when necessary and encourage our fosters to utilize a volunteer photographer’s services whenever possible.

  • Email fosters who have overdue bios/photos.

  • Use your discretion in selecting the best photo to use as a profile photo for each pet.

  • Ask for monthly updates from fosters

    • If a dog/cat has been in a foster home for a month or more, it is always good to try to keep things fresh and ask for new write-up/updated photos.

  • Check bio team’s email. Answer any inquiries.

  • Monitor the "Pet Bios" Slack channel for updates/requests from other teams
