About this Opportunity

The Community Caf Coordinator Volunteer is responsible for overseeing the entire caf, once fully trained. They will train new volunteers, will take care of the envelopes and money, will ensure food safety, and will train substitutes should s/he need to be out.

DAY NEEDED:Thursdays (4 hours)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements and supervises a reservation system.
  • Communicates with patrons regarding available services, caf policy, and procedure, and meal preferences.
  • Makes referrals to Eastern Area Agency on Aging with patron's consent.
  • Consults with patrons, volunteers, and Program Coordinatorto develop programs and provide speakers and activities that will attract new participants as well as increase current patron participation and attendance.
  • Prepares all required reports and records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteers.
  • ProvidesProgram Coordinatoror designees with the information needed for ordering supplies and meals.
  • Implements and carries out program policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that food safety procedures are followed and that meals are served attractively.
  • Accurately counts money, makes the change, and performs basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Trains substitute to perform essential functions of Caf Coordinator in his/her absence.
  • GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Maintains confidentiality of all client information.
  • Represents Eastern Area Agency on Aging positively by remaining flexible and maintaining a pleasant, friendly, and sociable attitude.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for position-related requirements.
  • Provide at least 24 hours' notice, whenever possible, when not able to attend scheduled volunteer time due to other obligations or illness.

    While performing the duties of this position, the volunteer is regularly required to sit, stand, and effectively communicate with others. The volunteer is occasionally required to climb stairs and walk short distances sometimes in adverse weather conditions. The volunteer must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
