About this Opportunity

The Wellness Instructor is responsible for delivering an exercise program that the volunteer is trained in examples include, Tai Chi, A Matter of Balance, Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, etc.to participants.Weekly: Tuesday/Thursday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare for each class by reviewing the appropriate program manual and requirements.
  • Organize the room set-up.
  • Present the class curriculum according to the directions and training provided.
  • Encourage interactive discussion about the concepts and skills presented.
  • Monitor and connect with each participant.
  • Promote socialization and a solution-oriented environment among the participants.
  • GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • All participants information is confidential. Each Instructor will sign A Pledge of Confidentiality
  • Instructor will seek clarification for unexpected issues from the Master Trainer.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and requests from patrons.
  • Ability to accurately count money, make change, and perform basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Ability and willingness to travel to class sites requirements.
  • Instructors are required to report any injury, illness or concerns.
  • Instructors are encouraged to record Lessons Learned and share feedback and ideas.
  • QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:

    Experience and Skill Requirements: The following requirements and skills are considered essential:

    • Comfortable speaking in front of groups, if only minimally.
    • Giving exercise instruction to participants.
    • Ability to allow group ownership of workshop, non-controlling.
    • Ability to demonstrate and instruct all of the exercises in the specific program curriculum.

    Education/Skill Requirements: The following education requirements are considered essential:

    • Completion of appropriate instructor training.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
