Position Office Resource Assistant Worksite Address: 232 Broadway, PO Box 126, Farmington, ME 04938 Position Description This position requires the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment in a setting that respects donor and client confidentiality. Specific duties include: Answering phones, providing appropriate and accurate information, transferring calls as appropriate and taking messages. Greeting visitors to the office and assisting with requests for resources as required. Getting mail from the post office. Assisting with mailings. Database updating and records management with oversight. Assisting staff with tasks to support their work as requested. Office maintenance (light cleaning as needed); assisting with maintenance of office equipment. Position also may include support of special initiatives (such as Cut-A-Thon and Packs for Progress) and fundraisers. Skill level needed, or that will be provided: Position requires comfort dealing with people, compassion, organizational skills, follow through, independence, and a willingness to learn new skills.The volunteer and site supervisor will meet for a performance evaluation two weeks after initial engagement, or after a total of 30 service hours have been completed. The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area reserves the right to extend this volunteer engagement, or not renew the engagement at this time if performance is unsatisfactory, or needs change. Expectations of the volunteer: Read, sign, and abide by the UWTVA Code of Ethics and adhere to workplace working conditions and rules. Provide three references that will be contacted by supervisor prior to volunteer engagement. Understand that a criminal history record check will be completed. Communicate special accommodation requests to supervisor prior to engagement in work as necessary. Ask questions to ensure growth and job satisfaction when needed. Meet with site supervisor weekly to ensure good communication. Provide 2-hour notice if unable to fulfill commitment. Reliability and consistency is expected. Engage with United Way of the Tri-Valley Area on a strictly volunteer basis. NO COMPENSATION WILL BE RECEIVED FOR SERVICES, with the exception of mileage reimbursement when driving on UWTVA business.
