About this Opportunity
MAPS Media Institute is a nonprofit organization offering free, hands-on media arts education to students in grades 8¿12, with a focus on rural and underserved communities. Our summer program helps prevent summer learning loss and supports students¿ personal, social, and professional growth through creative learning. MAPS mission is to empower, inspire and prepare Montana¿s next generation for future success through professional media arts instruction, engaging community service and compassionate mentoring.
Summer AmeriCorps Member will help empower Montana youth through creativity, storytelling, and real-world skill building! Members will support free, STEAM-based media arts programs for students in grades 8¿12 in Ravalli County and/or the Fort Belknap Indian Community. You'll assist with hands-on classes, mentor students, help run creative productions, and contribute to college and career readiness activities¿all while gaining experience in arts education, nonprofit work, and community engagement. Make a difference and grow your own creative and professional skills along the way!
Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project. MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana. Led by CEOs from participating institutions, MCNCE works to improve community life and educate students on civic and social responsibility, preparing them to be thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged leaders.
