About this Opportunity
Salish Kootenai College aspires to be the pre-eminent educational center of excellence for American Indian Students, grounded in the cultures of the Séli¿, Ksanka and QÍispé people of the Flathead Nation. The college will empower students to improve the lives of their families and communities through research, leadership and service.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau 2009-2013 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates, only 15% of adults on the Flathead Indian Reservation, ages 25 and older, have attained a baccalaureate degree. The national rate for college completions 60%. For Native students the rates drop lower with 43% graduating from MSU, 31% from UM, and 40% graduating across the nation.
