About this Opportunity
Healing Action Network is committed to fostering safety, healing, and recovery for survivors of trafficking and exploitation. Grounded in trauma-informed, survivor-centered care, our vision is a future where exploitation no longer exists. As the only AmeriCorps program dedicated to human trafficking, the Volunteer Service Link program connects AmeriCorps members with victim service organizations to enhance survivor support. Responsibilities Deliver community education on human trafficking, trauma prevention, and opioid harm reduction at events, workshops, and forums. Distribute naloxone (Narcan) and provide education on overdose prevention and response. Represent the organization at outreach events, tabling opportunities, and community meetings. Collaborate with staff, partners, and public health agencies to coordinate outreach and awareness efforts. Assist in developing or adapting education materials and resources for community distribution. Track participation, outreach data, and resource distribution through accurate documentation. Service Environment Hybrid service model with flexible hours based on availability and event needs. Service takes place in community-based settings, including health fairs, schools, and public forums. Moderate physical activity and local travel may be required for event setup and engagement. Ideal Candidate Passionate: Approaches sensitive topics with empathy and care for others' experiences. Educator: Comfortable speaking to groups and engaging individuals in meaningful conversations. Resourceful: Committed to reducing stigma around trauma, exploitation, and substance use. Team-Oriented: Works well with staff, partners, and community members to reach shared goals. Eager to Learn: Open to training, feedback, and professional growth in public health and social justice topics. Join our team and help educate, equip, and empower communities through public health and prevention outreach.
