About this Opportunity
Boys Girls Club of the Foothills (BGCF) was established in response to high levels of delinquency, juvenile crime, gang activity and drug use among youth in the densely populated, multi-ethnic areas of Monrovia and Duarte in Los Angeles County. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Our vision is that every young person who walks through our doors receives the support and resources they need to successfully graduate from high school, set goals for the future, and demonstrate good character and a healthy lifestyle. Founded in 1994, BGCF provides a safe and productive place to spend time during non-school hours for youth who might otherwise end up on the streets, at home alone, or engaging in unsafe behavior. We provide transportation from 13 school site locations, serving 350-400 young people each day at two K-5 sites and a teen center. We are open Monday - Friday before school, afterschool, and all day during summers and holiday breaks. BGCF offers nationally recognized, evidence-based programs with a strong educational and mentoring focus, empowering youth who may have never envisioned a future to make positive choices and believe in their ability to succeed.
BGCF is seeking support with data collection systems and information technology. This year, we expanded services onto five additional locations and just completed a data migration to a new data management system. We need support in learning to use the new system to its fullest capabilities, efficiently refining our data collection and storage practices, and providing more effective ways to measure outcomes and incorporate continuous quality improvement procedures. We also need to formally adopt set procedures for reporting and data analysis.
