25-26 Girls on the Run Bay Area Development VISTA

Founded in 2002, Girls on the Run of the Bay Area has served over 30,000 girls in the Bay Area. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Serving five Bay Area counties -- San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and San Mateo -- we are supporting about 1,800 girls on 140 teams this year. We are committed to serving diverse populations within our territory and are proud to successfully support over 70% of our participants with financial assistance in the form of program scholarships raised through strategic partnerships, grants and fundraising efforts. Among the program sites currently served in FY2025, ~80% of sites are serving girls in lower socioeconomic and income-constrained backgrounds. The role of our VISTA is to work closely with the team in the area of Development & Programs with a view to optimizing our current processes. We have an earned income steam (fees for the program) and a contributed income stream. The more we can optimize these two income streams the more youth we can serve in the Bay Area. The fun part of this role is to test and learn using platforms like Canva for marketing; Pinwheel for email marketing; Google Analytics and Adwords, Salesforce for donor tracking etc. Our ideal candidate has passion for the mission, a ¿can-do¿ spirit and is comfortable working with a small team of smart people who roll up their sleeves to ensure that every girl, no matter her race, ethnicity, economic background or athletic ability is able to join our program. We are looking for a person who is able to work with us on spreadsheets, sort t-shirts for inventory management, and analyze our current marketing, fundraising and outreach programs ¿ in other words, is comfortable being adaptable and flexible as the needs arise with a view to running a more efficient organization. A sense of humor goes a long way too!
