About this Opportunity

This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA¿s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty. St Patrick Center¿s Hospital to Healthy Housing is located in the heart of St. Louis MO at 800 N. Tucker Blvd. which offers a central location, in walking distance to the Cardinals Stadium and the St. Louis ARCH. H2HH has three programs, the temporary shelter program, 2019, partnered with BJC hospital, the Coordination program that is partnered with SLU hospital, 2020 for access to emergency shelter and a PSH program established 2021 with 34 participants living in master leased scattered site apartments throughout the city/county. St Patrick Center¿s Mission is ¿To bring the healing, help, and hope of Jesus Chist to those in need with a compassionate, caring presence¿ and our role is ultimately to end homelessness one referral at a time. This VISTA will work on file compliance for each of the programs and engage with partners to strengthen community partnerships in hopes of additional access to funding opportunities. The VISTA will be directly supervised by the program manager who will be available at all times. Hospital to Healthy Housing is looking for someone who has worked with the homeless community, is empathetic and interested in making a difference for the unhoused community by using grant writing skills and verbal communication to seek additional funding opportunities, and someone who is interested in data collection and input. Overall, this program is changing the way we help the community in need and can offer an inside look at all the resources available in the metro area. H2HH offers the ability to build skills in empathy, service, referral, and grant funding. There are ongoing opportunities for professional development and networking.
