*Goodwill VISTA* STRIVE Program and Events VISTA

STRIVE began in 1999, providing a safe space for tweens, teens, and young adults with intellectual disabilities. Today, we serve over 1400 participants through over 10 programs. Our programs are designed to address the many issues faced by young adults with disabilities and to assist our participants in utilizing resources within their community so they can participate as active members of their communities. Our members are about three times more likely to live in poverty than the rest of the state so a main focus of STRIVE programs is supporting our participants to learn valuable independent living skills. Additional programming includes educational courses, social opportunities, developing leadership potential, fostering career exploration through education and training, and providing support and resources for families.
