Docent Tour Volunteer

Description: Step into history and help others experience it firsthand! We’re looking for enthusiastic, people-loving volunteers to assist our Docents with public tours of the North Star House. Tours are held every 2nd and 4th Thursday from 1–3 PM, with Tuesday morning walk-ins also available.

This is a flexible, rotating role—ideal for anyone who wants to be involved but can’t commit every week. Volunteers switch off shifts and support one another, making it easy to fit into your schedule. Whether you’re available once a month or more often, we’d love to have you on the team!

In this role, you’ll:

• Greet guests and assist with tour check-ins

• Support the historian during live tours

• Help share the story of the North Star House and its residents

• Answer visitor questions and provide light crowd guidance

No prior experience is required—just an interest in local history, a warm presence, and a willingness to learn. We’ll provide everything you need!
