About this Opportunity
We’re looking for people who can help our youth learn how to sew. We previously had someone assisting, but her schedule has become too busy for her to continue regularly. This opportunity could be filled by one volunteer who comes twice a month, the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, or by several volunteers who rotate on different days.
We currently have six youth in the program and four sewing machines, so not all of them can be on the machines at the same time. Volunteers can help by teaching basic skills, guiding small groups, or supporting youth who are working off the machines until their turn comes.
This is suitible for groups as long as someone in the group knows how to sew. The others could help the youth with the directions.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
You need to know how to sew using patterns because the youth will be choosing a pattern.
