Patient Companions

Northern Westchester Hospital is seeking volunteers to provide companionship to patients to positively impact their well-being and recovery. For many patients, a companion's visit may be their only interaction with a visitor, making the volunteer's time and attention invaluable. Volunteer companions' presence can brighten their day and contribute to a more positive healing experience.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in conversation and provide friendly company
• Read aloud to patients
• Play games and engage in other activities
• Offer a listening ear and emotional support

Requirements:

• Weekly commitment of 2-4 hours
• Mandatory training
• Up-to-date health and vaccine requirements
• Hospital uniform jacket
• Adult volunteers only (18+)
