About this Opportunity

Join us for the 10th Annual Cornelia Airpark Concerts -- a celebration of Americana and folk music, set at the historic Cornelia Fort Airpark in Shelby Bottoms. The concerts take a lot of help to put on and we want you to join in on the fun! All volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt and admission to the show, and volunteers 21 or older will receive a free drink.

What will volunteers be doing at this event?
Here are the shifts available for volunteers to help us with

  • Set up: 10AM-12PM
  • Gate/Tickets: 5-8PM
  • ID Check: 5-7PM or 7-9PM
  • Bar: 5-7:30PM or 7:30-9:45PM
  • Kids Craft Tent: 5:30-7:30PM
  • Clean-up: 9:45-10:30PM

What is the community impact of this event?
The Cornelia Airpark Concerts have been a neighborhood staple for a decade now, and our neighbors have come to expect a true community event that brings all corners of Nashville together in celebration of Americana and folk music. Whether people come for the music, the food, or to meet new friends, these concerts are great for everyone of all ages. By hosting this, volunteers will get to see true community at work!

Accessibility:
Most of the area is well paved, though it does have some bumps and cracks. Volunteers will need to be able to stand for the majority of their shift, and the clean-up crew will need to be able to push with their arms above their heads as we work to put a small plane away at the end of the night. Being able to lift 30+ pounds is a necessity for the set-up and clean-up crews as well.

What should volunteers bring or wear?
Volunteers should wear shoes that they feel comfortable standing in during their shift, and closed-toe shoes are recommended but not necessarily required. You will be provided a volunteer t-shirt to wear during your shift. Beyond that, please dress according to the weather and your own comfort levels.

What’s next?
Once you sign up, you will receive confirmation from Hands on Nashville. Then, Linda Bodfish will place you on our internal list, where she will then reach out ahead of the event with more information on parking and event details.
