About this Opportunity

Those who are experiencing homelessness and food insecurity do not know where or when their next meal is coming. SVdP’s dining rooms around the Valley are thriving places where these individuals can come not only for a hot, nutritious meal and a smile, but to find supportive wrap-around services such as shelter, clothing, medical attention, and housing services. Volunteers create an experience many of us take for granted, an opportunity to feel welcome and part of a family.

Our dining room volunteers create a warm and welcoming environment and assist with tasks that include, but are not limited to dining room set up, guest greeting, serving, bussing tables, waiting on tables, washing dishes, dining room clean-up, and assisting with the distribution of clothing and supplies to our dining room guests.

Please Note: Volunteers serving court-ordered volunteer hours must register directly through St. Vincent de Paul and attend a virtual orientation before being scheduled to volunteer.

The minimum age for this volunteer opportunity is 16. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 who aren't attending a project with a parent/guardian MUST bring a Youth Waiver signed by a parent or guardian, to each project.

If you would like to register your child, please email the opportunity coordinator listed below and ask to reserve a guest slot. Please note, volunteers 13 years or older can create their own HandsOn account and sign up for opportunities directly (activation fee is not applicable for those under the age of 16).

This project is led by the staff at St. Vincent de Paul. When you sign in, please mark that you are volunteering with HandsOn Greater Phoenix.
