About this Opportunity

Opportunity Overview:
Do you enjoy interacting with the public, making them feel welcome and comfortable? Weir River Farm is looking for volunteers to help with their Thursday evening Sunset Picnics starting in June and running through September. With live music, food and beer vendors, and the best sunsets on the South Shore, we are looking forward to a safe, fun, and family-friendly summer! Volunteers in this role will primarily help with set-up and clean-up. They may relax and enjoy the music during the event. Come work 1 or 2 weeks, or all of them if you like!

Reports to: Engagement Manager

Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following):

  • Assist with set up and clean up, including the ability to lift tables and chairs
  • Welcoming visitors, assist with parking, wayfinding (bathrooms, check-in table, etc) and answering basic questions about the Farm
  • Communicate effectively with staff and other volunteers
  • Adhere to The Trustees safety and COVID-19 protocols
  • Sign-up for your available days

Qualifications:

  • Have excellent communication and customer services skills
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Have reliable transportation to the Farm
  • Enjoy working with people
  • Please note: A background check is required for this role

Time Commitment:
Come for one or two events, or come for all!
