About this Opportunity

The Sharing Shelf is Westchester County's clothing bank for children; it was founded to combat clothing insecurity and meet basic material needs among low-income children and families in the community. It collects new and gently used clothing for infants, children, and teens. The clothing is then sorted by quality, size, season, and gender before being distributed to local, low-income children at no cost through nonprofits, schools, hospitals, and community groups in Westchester County.

There has been a 40% increase in demand for clothes, with hundreds of children and teens in need of clothing each month. Volunteers are asked to donate gently used items for children and teens—sizes 4T through Youth XL (14-16) are accepted—to help support this need. This is a great opportunity to do some closet cleaning while doing some good! Express interest below to find out what types of clothes are needed.
