About this Opportunity
Join OC Habitats and the City of Santa Ana at Jack Fisher Park for a day of giving back to our community by helping us clean up Santiago Creek! Get your hands dirty by removing invasive plant species and picking up trash -- all while learning about riparian habitat and native species in Orange County!
Meet: Picnic tables
Parking: Street parking is available
Restrooms: Available at the park
Bring: Layers for varying weather, sun protection (e.g., hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), a refillable water bottle, and work gloves (if you have them). Please wear long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy closed-toe shoes.
Provided: We will have a few tools, gloves, and trash collection bags available. A water fountain is available at Jack Fisher Park to refill your reusable water bottle.
Waiver: Required if you haven't completed one this calendar year. Complete the online waiver. If you are under 18 years old, you will need a parent or guardian to sign your waiver. On the day of the event, please show proof (screenshot or email confirmation) that you signed the waiver.
Note on Site: We'll be exploring the creekbed during the cleanup, and the terrain there is rocky and uneven. Please check in with yourself about whether this kind of footing works for you -- we want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience. Also, this site is gated. Please let staff know if you cannot stay for the duration of the event.
Note on Schedule: Schedule is subject to change due to weather, health, or safety. Always check your email before the event for updates.
