About this Opportunity
Alzheimer's Association is seeking volunteers who are passionate about the outdoors to become Hiking Volunteer Leaders for its "Do What You Love to End ALZ™" program.
Hiking Volunteer Leaders will recruit fellow hikers, organize fundraising hikes, and coach participants to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Whether already part of a hiking club, a group trek leader, or just a lover of the trail, Hiking Volunteer Leaders have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through the activity they already enjoy.
Hiking Volunteer Leaders will:
- Recruit hikers, clubs, and outdoor groups to start fundraising hikes
- Coach participants on how to plan, promote, and fundraise for their events
- Host recruitment hikes or info sessions to engage new supporters
- Connect with local outfitters, gear shops, and outdoor brands for partnerships
- Table at outdoor events, give presentations, and attend community meetups
- Send follow-ups, write thank-you notes, and celebrate fundraising milestones
- Represent the Alzheimer's Association mission with passion and purpose
