East Indian (Hindi/Urdu Speaking) Friend to elderly Participant (Female)

Providence ElderPlace PACE is an innovative program of services for older adults. Providence ElderPlace helps older adults remain as healthy and independent as possible in the community for as long as they choose.

Volunteer Friend:Wehave an urgent request for a Hindi/Urdu speaking volunteer to phone /visit one of our East Indian participants.

We are in need of someoneto call and or biweekly visits to the participant. Here's your chance to build a relationship and make a difference in someone's life. Bring joy by sharing conversations, stories, pictures,songs-anything you two choose to share.

The right fit for this volunteer opportunity is someone whois comfortable speaking Hindi/Pakistani past the beginner level with their friend. Volunteers become a part of the Elder Place PACE team which provides health and social services to our participants.

ParticipantEnjoys reading, tv (Indian/Pakistani shows), time on laptop, talking/visiting with family, shopping, exercises, walking, attends ADH intermittently.

• Hindi/Urdu speaking-intermediate level and above
• Experience with older adults is a plus not required.
• Enjoy conversation.
• Good listening skills

Avirtual new volunteer orientation is required as well as a background check, and free medical screening which includes COVID 19 vaccination. Training for volunteersaccording to their opportunity.
