About this Opportunity

Did you know that 1 in 6 adults in Washington State lack the basic literacy skills needed to get a livable wage job?

Help make a difference by volunteering with a diverse population of low-income adults working to improve their lives and become more self-sufficient.

As a class assistant you will support an instructor in either an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), citizenship, conversation, or computer class. Classes focus on skill levels (beginning to advanced) in reading, writing, speaking/listening, or specific topics, such as work skills, citizenship, GED prep. Our classes are small and student-focused serving immigrants and/or refugees and native English speakers.

Bilingualism and/or experience working with adult immigrants and/or refugees is a plus. Training and support will be provided.

Literacy Source is an equal opportunity employer working towards a culturally diverse workplace. We strongly encourage applications from the BIPOC community, immigrants, refugees, women, people with disabilities, members of the LBGTQ community and other underrepresented and historically marginalized groups.
