About this Opportunity

Catholic Community Services REACH OUT shelter and Federal Way Day Center is responding to the Covid-19 pandemic in order to protect and support the homeless community in Federal Way. REACH is sheltering medically fragile and elderly individuals experiencing homelessness in hotels in order to prevent vulnerable people from contracting COVID-19. Sheltering vulnerable individuals in hotels allows for more social distancing at main shelters. Hotels provide a safe place for clients to stay home in accordance with current public health and state orders. Catered and delivered meals support nutrition and allow everyone to stay inside as much as possible. Reducing the need to leave the hotel minimizes possible exposure and spread of the virus in the community. As the pandemic evolves the number of clients needing to shelter in hotels will increase. The Federal Way Day Center, providing essential services, is expanding hours of operation in response to the pandemic.
CCS is requesting cash donations to help pay increased costs due to the rapid response to COVID-19. Donations will be used to pay for emergency hotel stays, meals for guests, and additional operations costs at Federal Way Day Center due to increased hours.
