About this Opportunity
This Spring, make a difference in the life of a local hospice patient. We need you! No special skills required; just you desire to make a compassionate connection.
Visit with Samaritan's patients and families in their homes or in long-term care facilities inyour local communities. Provide a comforting presence, companionship, read, play cards and games, share stories, share military experiences, act as a friend or neighbor. Veterans needed to visit fellow Veterans.
Volunteersvisitonce a week for 2-4 hours and do not provide any hands-on care.Must be at least 18 years old.No experience or healthcare background needed. Complimentary training is provided.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum Age: 18
- One-year commitment
- Volunteer Orientation and Training
- Medical Clearance:
- Initial Tuberculosis test(paid for by Samaritan)
- Titers to check immunity for chicken pox, measles, and German measles (being immune not required to volunteer)(paid for by Samaritan)
- Annual flu vaccine
- Initial health screen
- Ongoing: Monthly Documentation, Annual Education
