About this Opportunity
WFHB Community Radios news department is seeking a reporter for its climate and environment team to continue a line of coverage about humanitys efforts to confront the problem of global warming and adapt to a changing world.
As an environmental reporter, you will research and write environmental features to be broadcast on the airwaves. Upholding ethical principles, knowledge of current events and a passion for environmental issues will be crucial in your success. Training will be provided and experience of all kinds are welcome.
Responsibilities:
Researches and writes environmental news stories.
Conduct interviews, on the phone or in person (or in Zoom), and select soundbites for broadcast.
Environmental package stories, which includes recording voice-over and editing together pieces.
Record interviews to be aired as Q&A or back and forth pieces.
Skills:
You will learn how to edit audio and record interviews to air on the radio. You will also learn valuable skills like Wordpress, SEO (search engine optimization) and writing /anchoring for broadcast journalism.
