BloomingOUT Host

BloomingOUT, WFHBs weekly live public affairs program dedicated to covering LGBTQ+ issues in Bloomington and beyond, is seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded host to join our volunteer team. The host will be responsible for leading engaging and thought-provoking conversations on-air, introducing segments, and interviewing guests. This position requires a passion for LGBTQ+ issues, a commitment to inclusive and ethical journalism and the ability to create a welcoming space for listeners and guests alike.

Training will be provided and all levels of experience are welcome.

Responsibilities:

• Host BloomingOUT live on-air, introducing topics, segments, and guests.
  
  

• Conduct live and pre-recorded interviews, asking thoughtful and informed questions.
  
  

• Collaborate with the BloomingOUT production team to plan each weeks program.
  
  

• Engage with the local LGBTQ+ community to develop show topics and book guests.
  
  

• Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and professional tone on-air.
  
  

• Assist with show promotion via WFHBs website and social media when needed.
  
  

Skills:
You will learn how to host a live radio show, conduct broadcast-quality interviews, and produce compelling on-air content. You will also gain skills in audio production, Wordpress and community engagement.
