Daytime Volunteers

The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is composed of 16 park units (with over 6,200 acres) and 48 miles of the Chattahoochee River. Because of its large size (one of the largest green spaces in metro-Atlanta), the park depends on the help from volunteers; they are the backbone of our park. Volunteering at the CRNRA is a great way to get involved with the environment and your community – events always have at least one ranger and several frequent volunteers (a great social opportunity). Volunteering is a way for you to enjoy our picturesque river and forest while also feeling that you’ve done something truly meaningful with your time. We are always looking for more volunteers here at the CRNRA for our events, which happen almost weekly (even in the winter). Typical events are invasive plant control, trail work/maintenance and trash pickup. At all events tools and gear (like gloves, trash bags) are provided, as is water – you only need to dress appropriately for the weather/activity.
