About this Opportunity
Position Description: We are looking for a volunteer who would like to assist our staff with the care of the park's original museum collections. This might include routine museum housekeeping in the historically furnished home, entering or updating museum records in the computer, or improving museum storage conditions in our new facility. Other tasks might include transcribing oral histories, scanning historic photographs, library organization, or putting information on the website. Musem handling and cleaning techniques can be easily taught; a basic knowledge of and comfort with computers is helpful. Housing: Volunteers are required to work 32 hours a week or 24 hours as a couple. In exchange we will reimburse you up to $450 for your campsite at a local RV park. There are three RV parks in the local area. A KOA is located right in the town of Deer Lodge (406-846-1692; www.koa.com/where/mt/26112/), Indian Creek is located just outside of town (406-846-3848; www.indiancreekcampground.net), and the Riverfront RV park is located in Garrison, MT which is just up the road from Deer Lodge (406-846-2282; www.riverfrontrvparkmt.com). Required Shifts Work days will be scheduled between 7:30 and 4:00, Monday through Friday. If applying as a couple, it may be possible for each to work different volunteer positions at the ranch.
