General Description: Promotion of Adoption and Sales events (at /near the following locations)

3/13-14/20  Champions Center: Springfield, OH

4/24-25/20  Civil War Arena: Carthage, MO

5/22-23/20  Cheshire Fairgrounds: Swanzey, NH

6/5-6/20  Red Horses Ranch: Cassopolis, MI

7/10-11/20  Shale Knoll Arena: Annville, PA

August (TBD) Windom, MN

9/18-19/20  BLM Maintenance Facility: Mequon, WI

Duties/Responsibilities:

Promote private care placement (of animals) opportunities on social media.

Distribute flyers prior to satellite events.

Brainstorm ways to increase the number of wild horses and burros placed into private care.

Share information and media sponsorships with members of the public, including rotary clubs, schools.

Serve as an ambassador for the BLM’s Wild Horse and Burro Program.

A willingness to work as part of a team.

Willing to wear BLM-approved Volunteer tee shirt, cap or vest.

This position requires a professional and friendly demeanor and the volunteer should be excited to represent the Bureau of Land Management.

Volunteer must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively with a wide range of people and personalities.

Prior to entering on duty, applicants may be subject to pass an agency background check.

Working Conditions: This position requires standing and/or walking for extended periods in both indoor and outdoor settings. Volunteer will work in a variety of weather conditions that may include wind, rain, mud, thunderstorms, bright sun, sleet, ice and/or snow. Working on weekends and holidays may occur.
