Trash Clean up

Job Title: Trash Patrol

Overview:

Volunteers are needed to pick up trash at campsites, day use areas, on the river, parking areas.

Duties: 1. Pick up trash and put into bags. 2. Update a daily journal.

Work Location: Various locations throughout the park: New River Gorge National River, Gauley River National Recreation Area and Bluestone National Scenic River..

Work Environment: Must be able to work outside in varying weather conditions. Volunteers will need appropriate personal protective equipment i.e. gloves, footwear, insect repellent, sunscreen and food and water. Transportation to the work site may be provided by the volunteer(s) or park personnel. Proper footwear, closed toe shoes or boots must be worn at all times. Physical labor such as lifting, kneeling, bending over, and some hiking can be expected.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Required: Ability to listen, learn and follow instructions. Ability to work safely with and around vehicles, equipment and other people.

Schedule and Time Commitment Schedule and time commitment is flexible but will be coordinated with park service staff.

Housing is not provided.
