About this Opportunity
We are seeking a CAMPGROUND HOST at Shores Lake Recreation Area.
Responsibilities may include: Providing friendly service and recreational information to campers, hikers, bicyclers, anglers and day-use visitors. Host must be available Thursday - Mondays and most holidays. Take recreational data by walking the 2 camping loops, day use areas and facilities at least once a day; some litter pick-up, and daily restroom/shower cleaning in all picnic/day use/campground areas.
Other opportunities may include testing the water system, mowing/trimming, site cleanup, and other minor site maintenance. The Host will explain the campground regulations and the reasons for them. Hosts are provided with a camping space, including full hook-ups for their RV (50 amp). Some expenses may be reimbursed, please coordinate with district staff.
Shores Lake Recreation Area is located in the heart of the Boston Mountain range of the Ozarks Mountains. This area offers rugged mountain bluffs and spectacular scenery and a picturesque CCC Dam. Visitors can view picturesgue rock bluffs, swim in a crystal clear lake, fish, picnic, boat, camp and hike nearby trails including the 165-mile Ozark Highland Trail.
To get to the Shores Lake Recreation Area from Ozark, take IH-40 West to Arkansas 215 North from Mulberry for 15 miles, then follow Forest Service Road 1505 (paved for 0.5 miles, gravel for eight miles), turn left (west) on Forest Service Road 1003 (gravel) for 2.5 miles, then right on Forest Service Road 1535. Follow the signs to the campground.
