7/24-25 Boys and Girls Home Exhibition Center: Lake Waccamaw, NC
8/14-15 Central KY Ag Expo: Liberty KY
9/18-19 Harrison County Fairgrounds: Gulfport, MS
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist BLM staff with daily feed and water for animals.
Assist with cleaning of portable corrals.
Provide event security.
Serve as an ambassador for the BLM’s Wild Horse and Burro Program.
Complete training component.
Requirements:
A willingness to work as part of a team.
Volunteer must have knowledge of equines and possess basic horsemanship/animal husbandry skills.
Willing to wear BLM-approved Volunteer tee shirt, cap or vest.
This position requires a professional and friendly demeanor and the volunteer should be excited to represent the Bureau of Land Management.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Volunteer must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively with a wide range of people and personalities.
Prior to entering on duty, applicants may be subject to pass an agency background check.

Working Conditions: This position requires standing and/or walking for extended periods in outdoor settings. Volunteer will work in a variety of weather conditions that may include wind, rain, mud, thunderstorms, bright sun, sleet, ice and/or snow. Working on weekends and holidays will occur.
Travel Expenses: Volunteer may apply in advance for travel reimbursement depending on the distance traveled and expense. Approval is subject in advance based on available funding.
