About this Opportunity
Walnut Canyon National Monument is seeking volunteers like you! Volunteers greet visitors, answer questions and provide orientation to the Monuments and surrounding area. Volunteers present informal interpretation and rove trails. Work may entail operating a cash register for nonprofit bookstore sales and, depending on background, may assist with behind-the-scenes projects as well. Training will be provided with time to get to know the Monuments. This position requires periods of standing, various levels of walking/hiking, and raising and lowering the flag daily.
Note: given the ongoing pandemic and that employee/VIP safety health, safety, and wellness are paramount, we are operating in a phased reopening environment (ie - some visitor services may not be offered).
There is RV space available for this opportunity. RV pad has been winterized. Before applying, ensure your RV & related 'above ground' equipment are prepared for below-freezing temperatures. Shifts are 8 hours long and you will be working 32 hours a week. Reliable personal transportation and a valid drivers license are required. Please include whether or not you have a current federal background check and an active PIV (federal government ID) card. Please list two references who are unrelated to you and able to speak about your ability and/or aptitude for the position. Also, couples must complete applications for each person.
For more information call Richard Ullmann at 928-526-1157 ext 228 or email [email protected]. Thank you for your interest!
