About this Opportunity

Volunteer to help maintain the trails in Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. The trails are part of the historic battlefield where Union General William Sherman and Confederate General Joseph Johnston’s armies engaged in combat on June 27, 1864.

Trail Club Crew members will assist the National Park Service (NPS) in the building, maintaining, improving, and enhancing trails within Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. Trail work ranges from easy to moderate terrain and involved walking, bending and lifting on uneven ground.

These volunteer activities require working with the Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club and include, but are not limited to, the following projects:

  • clip brush away from trail pathways
  • replace culverts
  • restoring or rebuilding bridges
  • trail restoration
  • clear water bars to divert rain water off the trails, reducing erosion

Training provided by the Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club.

Trail Work Day Dates and Times:

  • Every second Saturday of each month.
    • March – November begins at 8:30am.
    • December – February (winter schedule) begin at 11:00 am.
