Title: Internet Research and Outreach Volunteer

Description:

We’re a new nonprofit that spends a lot of time tracking down information and resources related to outdoor safety and community response. We’re looking for someone who enjoys digging for information online and following up with organizations by email or phone when needed. The work is flexible, remote, and can be done on your own schedule.

You’d help with things like:

• Finding directories or lists such as first aid squads and ambulance services in lower upstate New York
• Locating forms, templates, and policies that other organizations use so we can model our own
• Researching tools or data sources that might help our projects
• Contacting organizations or government agencies by email or phone to clarify information or fix broken web links
• Taking notes and sharing short summaries of what you find

This role is perfect for someone who likes variety and solving small mysteries online. It’s steady, useful work that directly supports our team and helps us move faster.

Skills we’d love

• Strong online research ability
• Comfortable with Google Docs or spreadsheets for tracking results
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Reliable and detail oriented
• Bonus if you have experience contacting public agencies or nonprofits

Commitment

• Remote volunteer role
• Work whenever you like, roughly 5–10 hours per week
• Communication by email or shared Google Drive
