Director of Human Resources - Center for Societal Aspiration
Position Title: Director of Human Resources
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Organization Description:
The Center for Societal Aspiration (CSA) is a startup nonprofit organization developing integrated programs supporting individuals and communities - from trauma recovery to entrepreneurship - alongside bold research in social science and technology that improves societal well-being.
CSA operates innovative, lean programs, including:
- CSA Social Impact Fellowship
- CSA Aspiration Studios
- CSA Human Development & Applied Practice
- CSA Social Enterprise Incubator
- CSA Society & Technology Research Lab
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all human resources functions for CSA, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and offboarding of volunteers and interns.
- Implement and manage virtual HR systems and tools (e.g., BambooHR, Jotform, etc.).
- Maintain updated role descriptions, HR policies, and internal process documentation.
- Coordinate virtual onboarding and orientation experiences to set new team members up for success.
- Ensure compliance with internal agreements (e.g., confidentiality, conduct) and maintain clear records.
- Support leadership and program directors in developing equitable, inclusive team culture.
- Track team participation, support needs, and growth opportunities.
- Lead HR data reporting and identify insights for improving volunteer/intern satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications:
- Experience in human resources, talent development, or volunteer/intern program management.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with HR platforms and virtual team coordination tools.
- Ability to lead HR operations in a fully remote, nonprofit environment.
- Commitment to building inclusive, equitable, and mission-aligned teams.
Commitment:
- Estimated commitment: 6-8 hours per week (virtual, flexible).
- Attend weekly coordination meetings and monthly CSA leadership meetings.
