About this Opportunity
Calling U.S. Military Veterans — Volunteer with Apreva Hospice
Honor and Support Fellow Veterans in Their Final Journey
At Apreva Hospice, we recognize the unique bond shared between those who have served. We are seeking Veteran Volunteers to provide compassionate support to fellow veterans receiving end-of-life care.
Your presence can bring understanding, dignity, and comfort that only a fellow service member can offer.
Ways Veteran Volunteers Can Help:
- Provide companionship and conversation to veteran patients
- Participate in pinning ceremonies to honor a veteran’s service
- Assist with legacy projects or sharing of life stories
- Offer a calm and reassuring presence during visits
- Support families with compassion, respect, and shared values
Why Veteran Volunteers Matter:
Veterans often feel most comfortable talking with someone who’s “been there.” Your understanding of military culture and experience helps create a safe space for reflection, connection, and healing.
No Hospice Experience Needed
We provide full training and support. All you need is your veteran status, a listening ear, and a heart to serve.
Ideal Volunteers:
- U.S. military veterans of any branch and era
- Respectful, compassionate, and grounded
- Comfortable spending time with elderly and medically fragile individuals
- Able to complete hospice volunteer orientation
