Veterans Supporting Veterans on Hospice Care in Bloomfield NJ

Are you a vet, active duty military or a military family? We have verterans on hospice care that would love a visit. We have veterans who served our country who would love someone with shared experience to talk to. That listening ear and compassionate heart would bring sunshine into difficult dark days. The shared experiences are a wonderful point of connection. We have veteran pinning ceremonies where the vet is presented with a certificate, a pin and a lap blanket as they are recognized for their brave service. These ceremonies are extra special when there are other veterans there.

If you are in the US and over 18 we would love to hear from you. We have in person visits for companionship and remote roles like pen pals and birthday cards. Every volunteer contribution, no matter how small matters to our patients and their families.

The process of becoming a volunteer involves a background check, references and some paperpwork. For in person roles there are some health clearances.
