Position Summary

Are you an experienced HR professional looking to make a meaningful impact? Join A Free Bird as a Volunteer Human Resources Interviewer and help identify passionate, qualified candidates to support our mission. You’ll play a key role in evaluating applicants, conducting interviews, and helping us build a strong and mission-aligned team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with volunteer applicants via video conferencing platforms
• Evaluate candidate qualifications, communication, and alignment with organizational values
• Collaborate with department leads to understand role requirements and tailor interview questions accordingly
• Provide feedback to the internal HR team to support effective candidate selection
• Maintain accurate records of interview outcomes and follow-up actions
• Ensure a professional and welcoming candidate experience throughout the process

Who We're Looking For

• Experienced HR professionals with 3+ years in recruitment, hiring, or talent acquisition
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assess talent across a variety of departments and roles
• Comfortable using video conferencing platforms and applicant tracking systems
• Passion for nonprofit work and supporting a mission-driven team
• Availability for at least 5–10 hours per week with a flexible schedule
