Public Relations (PR) Volunteer Role: Expand Access to Ocean Education!

Breach the Surface is looking for a dedicated and creative PR Volunteer to help amplify our mission of improving ocean literacy through accessible, engaging, and solutions-focused storytelling. In this role, you will help shape the organization’s public image, increase awareness of our programs like Sea Stories, and build relationships with local media, community partners, and influencers.

You’ll play a key role in telling our story to the Tampa Bay community and beyond helping the public see why protecting the ocean is urgent, possible, and worth getting involved in. As a PR Volunteer, your responsibilities may include drafting press releases, pitching stories to media outlets, maintaining media contact lists, and monitoring press coverage. You’ll collaborate with our leadership team to identify compelling stories, craft key messages, and ensure our brand voice stays consistent across all communications.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, a strong writer, and passionate about marine conservation. While experience in public relations is a plus, we welcome volunteers eager to learn and grow their skills while making a meaningful impact.
