About Us
Dulce Vida Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization saving the lives of abandoned and abused dogs and cats across California and Mexico. Through rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming, we give animals a second chance. Our work is made possible by a passionate team—and powerful storytelling.
Role Summary
Do you have a background in dog training or animal behavior? Dulce Vida Rescue is seeking dedicated volunteers to support our adopters and fosters with training and behavioral guidance. From separation anxiety to basic obedience, your expertise can help dogs adjust, thrive, and stay in their forever homes.
As a volunteer, you’ll provide guidance and support through:
- Calls, emails, and in-person sessions (depending on your availability)
- Answering questions on:
- Separation anxiety
- Digestive issues
- Behavioral challenges (reactivity, fear, aggression, etc.)
- Training and obedience support
- Offering compassionate advice and practical solutions to strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a dog trainer, behaviorist, or animal care specialist
- Strong communication skills and empathy for both dogs and their humans
- Patience, positivity, and a genuine passion for animal welfare
- Ability to commit a few hours per week (schedule is flexible)
