Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in securing funding that will support our various programs and initiatives. As a Volunteer Grant Writer, you will research, draft, and submit grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other funding organizations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful change while honing your grant writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research: Identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources that align with Synapses' mission and programs.
  • Proposal Writing: Write compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, tailored to the requirements of each funding opportunity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program managers and other team members to gather necessary information and insights for proposals.
  • Submission: Ensure timely submission of grant applications and track their progress.
  • Follow-Up: Assist in follow-up communications with funders and provide any additional information or documentation as required.
  • Reporting: Support the preparation of progress and final reports for funded projects, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Research Abilities: Strong research skills to identify potential funding opportunities and gather relevant data.
