Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Instructional Designer – Special Projects to collaborate with the Chief of Staff in designing, developing, and implementing engaging learning resources. This role will focus on creating training materials and instructional content that support organizational initiatives, volunteer onboarding, and cross-functional projects. It is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, creative individual who wants to use instructional design skills to advance mission-driven work.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Chief of Staff to identify instructional needs for current and upcoming projects
- Design and develop learning materials including guides, presentations, workshops, and e-learning content
- Apply instructional design best practices to create inclusive, accessible, and engaging experiences
- Ensure materials reflect MAP’s values, mission, and organizational culture
- Collaborate with HR, Programs, Communications, and other teams to support cross-functional initiatives
- Evaluate content effectiveness and revise materials based on feedback and evolving project needs
Qualifications
- Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or training
- Strong writing, editing, and design skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a volunteer-driven environment
- Proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva, Adobe, or e-learning platforms) preferred
- Adaptable, collaborative, and mission-driven mindset
Commitment
- Volunteer role, approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Remote with weekly virtual meetings
- Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
